Enjoying the antics, preserving the exploits, and marveling at the magnificence of God's creation, one feather at a time.

MATTHEW 6:26,  BEHOLD THE FOWLS OF THE AIR: FOR THEY SOW NOT, NEITHER DO THEY REAP, NOR GATHER INTO BARNS; YET YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER FEEDETH THEM. ARE YE NOT MUCH BETTER THAN THEY?

🕊In our busy society, it is very easy to miss all of God's Handiwork around us everyday.  It is our desire that through this tiny peek into the detailed and diversified world of our backyard birds, you will get a glimpse of the magnificence of our God and Creator.  Ultimately, we hope you will declare the Glory of God with us and possibly be inspired to engage in your own bird adventure.

WHAT IS BIRD WATCHING?

Bird watching is the observation of birds in their natural environment.  In our case (as the backyard-er) their natural environment is our neighborhood.  Whether you are newly "molted" to this hobby or experienced we hope you enjoy the  Pictures of Our Birds! (30+ different birds in less than one year) and interesting  things we have learned/observed about these diverse and beautiful creatures.

ANNOUNCING

Shape Divider - Style triangle_asymmetrical
Eastern Kingbird returned around the same time this year as last year!  Updated page on Our Birds.
Eagle pair seen in the sky several times
After a long absence a Carolina Wren made an appearance back at the feeder the last week in May   They have remained through the September.
🆕 Our  male Towhee returned with his mate this spring.  Unfortunately, they left again mid-June.  The must have relocated their nest. as of mid-August we saw two  Towhee fledges, a boy and a girl.
Though we have seen them before on bird trips, has our first Pileated Woodpecker come to the house.  He, his mate and at least one fledge returned at least once to nearby trees.
🐥🐥We had more fledges this year than last year. Fantastic Fledges Page and be overwhelmed by cuteness!
The Red-Headed Woodpecker came back for over  a month. He stayed with us daily until the beginning of August.  He was absent from daily trips to the feeders for two weeks and returned daily mid-August.
🕊Hummingbirds are back daily to the new outside garden cottage though they don't really care for the feeders.  Hope they are back for the duration.
