EGRET ROOKERY
SOCASTEE, SC
This Rookery is only accessible via Waccatee Zoo and has existed long before the zoo was put in that location. The Egrets, along with some Wood Storks, Great Herons, and Anhingas return each year.

Great Egret Hatchery
(naturally existing before the zoo), Socastee, South Carolina.
We went to see the Great Egrets nesting and later their nestlings. We also took pictures of Great Blue Herons, Wood Storks, Anhingas, and on the second trip an Osprey.
